This past weekend featured an incredible highlight for us with THAT. FUN. FIT. FEST being held completely online through our mobile app and streamed to more than 2800 people around the world tuning in to be a part of the fitness magic.
THAT. FUN. FIT. ALT Capital Partners, a private equity market firm established to assist local and international investors tap into the Africa Rising phenomenon, embraced the highly-innovative and locally developed Flock Eventing Platform at its launch in Johannesburg this month (July 2018), and we were honoured to be a part of it by providing the RSVP Management and Mobile App for attendees.
Standing out was the download rate and interactivity experienced on the app component of the platform: a remarkable 76% of guests downloaded the app, and there was an exceptionally high level of interactivity amongst the audience posing questions directly to the speakers through the app during the event, and the speaker sessions being accessed more than 540 times in the 4 hour event.
Commenting on the platform’s flexibility and robustness, ALT Capital Partners founder and CEO, Ben Kodisang, said the firm could “not have done better than partnering with Flock”. Here is Ben's testimonial below
“When ALT Capital Partners embarked on Defining Conviction and Defying Convention it could not have done better than Partnering with Flock on its inaugural launch event. From cradle to grave Flock demonstrated creativity, tenacity, empathy, responsiveness, proactivity and passion in delivering an event management platform that differentiated ALT Capital from the industry convention.
Honour and privileged to experience such professionalism. Fact that they’re nice people, was just the icing on top of the cake”
Thank you ALT Capital Partners for letting us be a part of your successful event!
One of the most exciting aspects of the corporate event space is the rate at which technological advancements affect the industry. Mike Lysko, our CEO, explores the ways in which quantum computing might alter the way we orchestrate and attend events.
Being able to attend an entire event virtually felt very futuristic until a few months ago when tech improved dramatically and new health situations encouraged us to change our view on traditional events. So, we have great news (and a solid solution for event planners that still need their events), with some attendees hesitant to travel or unable to be (physically) in one place all together.
35% of event attendees are now Millennials. This percentage is slowly increasing, so it’s more important than ever to ensure that your events cater to their needs. Your aim should be to create better experiences, ensure maximum enjoyment, and generate sharing momentum from each event.
The event industry has changed drastically over the last few months and although it has been a particularly challenging shift, we have seen marked improvements in efficiency and scale due to the new reliance on technology and the virtual space.
Flock is no stranger to developing and executing online events. Since 2013, we have been creating seamless Event Tech experiences in more than 36 countries and have covered a myriad of events from virtual conferences to online awards ceremonies. Flock aims to optimize user engagement for every type of event we manage — whether live, virtual or hybrid.
In amongst all the impressive events we have been able to be a part of, we have also spent a lot of time improving the features of our apps to enhance the experience for attendees, and ease of communication by our event planners.
Flock Eventing Platform was thrilled to play a role in this year’s prestigious Simon Sabela Awards which honours achievements in the film and television industry.
Mike Lysko, the Founder and CEO of the Flock Eventing Platform says the company hopes to assist in the initiative for many years to come.
The 8th annual Simon Sabela Awards took place on the 12th of September 2020 at the International Film Festival in Durban. The Awards recognise the outstanding talent and achievements of role players within the South African film and television industry, from actors, producers, directors through to film and television technicians.
Flock Events Platform in partnership with event organisers, Event Wizards, was involved in an exciting event for EXXARO, a leading South African mining company. The event was entirely virtual, with Flock providing EXXARO with a custom mobile app and an event page.
Our latest improvement has stemmed from wanting to create an easier way for guests to network, as well as us wanting to provide more data to event managers to improve the event experience for their guests. The years of not being able to get vital information about your guests are over, and we have enhanced the features on our app to make it easier than ever to get it.
Over the last few months, we have spent time crafting and re-designing the back end of our platform to make it even better and improve the experience for our clients. From the Multiple Events Dashboard to the Email Design functionality, through to the Mobile App Design Module, and the Exportable Reports – it has all had a facelift.
What did we do and how did we communicate urgent alerts before this feature?
Flock Eventing Platform recently kicked off its Webinar Series for this year with an expert panel discussion around the 12 Top Event Trends of 2021.
Flock’s first webinar proved to be a powerhouse of information for anyone who wants to learn more about holding events in 2021 and beyond.
Hosted by MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) ambassador, Thami Nkadimeng, it was the first of many sessions aimed at businesses and event organisers who are shifting their attention to how to engage with audiences and customers virtually during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
2020 has been quite a year! We’ve seen the industry adapt and host some incredible online events. These events have brought people together to share memorable experiences.
Throwing a virtual event can be daunting. In many ways, it’s a completely different ballgame to live in-person events, because the main feature — the guests — are sitting behind screens, all over the world. Virtual events need to be fun, engaging, and interactive so that guests stay tuned in for the whole show. Your main aim is to keep their attention, keep them engaged and encourage discussion.
Flock Eventing Platform has put together an essential toolbox of top tips to help you when planning your virtual event.

Gamification has always been a big part of the event industry, but this trend has been accelerated as virtual and hybrid events have increased in popularity. It is important to understand what exactly gamification is to truly understand how this tactic can enhance your virtual event.
We’re firmly entrenched in the age of mobile. We work, play, and do everything in between on the device in the palm of our hands. Thanks to the fact that there’s an app for everything under the sun, our mobile phones have become an integral part of our lives. In fact, eMarketer reportsthat mobile apps account for a whopping 90% of time spent on our phones.
But what does this mean for event managers who’re tasked with ensuring their event is engaging enough for even the most ardent mobile phone user? The answer is simple: instead of fighting the mobile-first mindset, embrace it.
